2018 Kakadu Road Trip - Gunlom Falls

We had heard reports that the road into Gunlom Falls needed grading - how bad could it be?

Well it took us over an hour to drive 40k over the worst road we have ever encountered. We were just crawling at some points through the corrugations and dips and bends. Crazy stuff.

The campground was nice and good amenities for a national park. We decided to tackle the climb up to the falls and swim pools. It was mountain goat territory but the infinity plunge pool at the top was worth it.

 

After the return drive out to the main road we needed to air up the tyres and make some repairs to the van. Colin noticed that the wheels had some movement and he needed to adjust the wheel bearings. This was definitely a harsh road.
