Woodgate 2012/2013 Part 4

Our last week at Woodgate. An other week spent relaxing and having fun at the beach. A spot of fishing saw us catch a handful of small fish and a couple of keepers which cooked up nicely on the BBQ. The kids loved the waves at high tide and going for a ride in Shane's boat.

Woodgate 2012/2013 Part 3

As the Jellyfish disappear we start to get in some more great swimming time at Theodolite Creek and the beach. The front beach is offering some great waves in the afternoon - big enough for the kids to ride.

Woodgate 2012/2013 Part 2

Another year has ticked over. No fireworks this year upsetting Lizzie. We had expected a scare but it was all quiet. I managed to turn Madi into a cool Glow Stick Figure.

The Jelly fish appear to have gone into hiding today so we spent the afternoon playing is some rough kids sized waves.

We went for a drive through Kinkuna National park. I have video to ad to this post but it will have to wait till I get home ... it won't render :( laptop keeps crashing.

Woodgate 2012 Part 1

It's that time of year again. We pack the van and car and head off to Woodgate. This will be TeamBrays 8th Christmas in a row on the same site.

This year our Woodgate trip will be remembered for the amazing number of Jelly Fish at the beach. A quick Google search reveals they have been around the Sunshine Coast since late Nov. During the first few days the Jellyfish were close to shore. You could still swim but the lice would make you a little itchy.

This is what we saw on our first day at the beach. Luckily things got better after that.

If you are really crazy go and pick up a few Jelly fish and see how itchy you get afterwards.....even the kids only did that once :)

We returned from the beach yesterday to find a family of 3 Tawny Frogmouth birds above our camp.

It just wouldn't be Woodgate without Lauren getting an injury. She had been a daredevil on her new Riptick without a crash. She jumped onto her Blade scooter and had a nice fall. She was so brave she didn't scream until she got back to camp.
